Public Transportation in Portland

Public Transportation in Portland is Excellent, you will not need an automobile. Portland has made a major civic commitment to bicycles and you can even take your bicycle on cross town busses.

Our public transportation authority is called Tri-Met which features buses, a commuter light rail line called MAX and a Streetcar system, which all stop within half a block to 3 blocks from our front door.

You can get directly from the Portland International Airport (PDX) to our location for $1.55 on the MAX light rail line.

There is also a Light Rail Streetcar that runs from Portland State University, through the Trendy Pearl District, and the Trendy NW 23rd area.

We currently find the best overall USA and international airline ticket shopping tool is Orbitz.com

Buses Streetcars and MAX are free all over Downtown Portland, in a Fareless Square. See the map at the bottom of this page.

Terminals for Amtrak intercity trains, and Greyhound intercity bus lines are inside Fareless Square.
